Painting is like tending a garden. As an artist, I am only planting pigment on the paper. The painting will grow best with a minimal amount of fuss.
When I can flow like water, there is a mystical, liberating quality to the painting process. The paint becomes alive. I hope that you can feel the wonder.
I paint the memory of a moment and the excitement of the experience. I paint the spark and the splash to capture the magical quality that attracts our eye to a scene.
Ultimately, successful art creates a connection with the viewer. I attempt to create this connection by suggesting a story behind the painting.
Connecting art is that which you can see, feel and experience. Art can momentarily transport you entirely to the present moment.
I invite you to explore the world contained in each painting, to wander its depths and ponder its meaning.
